What are metal braces? Do you really know what they are?
If not, let me start by defining it for you:
Metal braces are made from high quality titanium or stainless steel and is comprise of the following three parts:
Brackets: These brackets are attached to your teeth using an amazingly strong glue, which bonds to the surface of your teeth.
Archwire: This is the thin wire that connects to those brackets that applies pressure to your teeth, which assist in sliding them in place over time.
Ligature Elastic (super-strength rubber bands): These super rubber bands (usually colored), holds the archwires to the brackets and are switched out during your orthodontist visits.
Putting Is All Together
The Brackets, Archwire, and Ligature all work together by moving each tooth into place over time through the use of pressure.
This process is monitored and adjusted by your orthodontist during each visit.
Your orthodontist may need to tighten or loosen the archwires, or require you to were headgear depending upon your process and the severity of the misalignment of your teeth.
The reason I wanted to define it is because so many people assume they know what metal braces are. Basing your actions upon bad information can cost you to make the wrong decisions or not take action at all, which causes you to become paralyzed.
Metal braces are very effective in straightening your teeth and the price isn’t too bad on your bank account.

The unfortunate aspects of metal braces are the visual appearance, in which some people feel very self-conscious about.
But to be honest, most of the people around you have become accustomed to seeing people with braces and are more acceptable than when they were first introduced ages ago.
Another side-affect as when any other type of teeth straightening method, your teeth will become loose for a short period of time until it moves into place and settles…
